That did not take long.

One of Duluth's oldest landmark restaurants has been sold. The Pickwick which was family owned for four generations will now be under new ownership.

Tim Wright of Duluth has bought the restaurant from Chris Wisocki. Wisocki said this year has been rough mainly because of bad press, from an informational picket that workers held.

Wisocki tried to bust the union by putting his own contract in place. A judge said he was unable to do that and he had to revert back to the union contract.

The conditions of the sale have not yet been released. With the sale it is unclear if the restaurant will remain union or not. For it to remain a union operated restaurant the new owner would need to retain at least 50% of the current work force.

Duluth Mayor say's plan in place if there is a strike.

Duluth Mayor Don Ness and Chief Administrative Officer David Montgomery held a press conference yesterday. The purpose of the conference was to talk about a possible strike by the AFCSME workers.

Mayor Ness said the city was preparing for a strike. They are taking steps to minimize impact of city services if there is a strike. The Mayor however gave little detail of what the plan is.
Mayor Ness said that there will be some impact should the 460 plus workers go on strike. We want limit that he said.

One of the issues at hand is the workers accepting 4 unpaid furlough days in its contract. That is not in any other city contract.
